What are the four types of injuries?

Here are the four major categories of injuries in personal injury law.

  1. Physical Injuries – These are self injuries caused to the body through broken bones, fractures, and bruises due to accidents.
  2. Emotional Injuries – Psychological trauma resulting from an accident, such as PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
  3. Workplace Injuries – An injury that happens in the workplace through unsafe working conditions or negligence.
  4. Catastrophic Injuries — Life-altering and severe self injuries like paralysis, brain injuries, or amputations.

Different types of injuries influence compensation in a personal injury claim. As debilitating injuries will require life-long care, settlements for catastrophic injuries are typically larger in value.

In compensation, emotional and physical injuries also have much significance. In our personal injury claims procedure, your injury — how serious and impactful it is — will be taken into consideration.

If you’ve experienced any of these injuries, you must collaborate with a lawyer to ensure you are compensated fairly for all your losses.
